I finished college!

Ok, well, I may have walked in April, but the truth was I still was not really done with school. I still had one independent study class left to finish. Yes, it did put a slight damper on my graduation ceremonies because I could not celebrate with the rest that I would never have to write another paper or take another test again. I definitely still had 5 lessons, a paper, and 2 tests left to take at that point. But at the same time I have not felt a rush to be a graduated adult, talk about scary, so it was ok.

BUT, as of May 31, I finally finished school forever! My last week of substitute teaching, I busted out the last of my lessons. Then my first week of "summer break" I wrote an 8 page paper and took 2 essay tests. Boom. Done.

And now I am free.

Free to look for a job...

Last Day of Junior High School!

Today was my last day at my long term sub job. All we did was sign yearbooks. Now its time for Summer Break! I am so excited for the break, but at the same time I will miss my kids. I did my student teaching at this school and I have been subbing there ever since. I learned a lot and they gave me some great and funny memories to carry with me.

Pescado!

Meet our new pet fish! We named him Pescado. It's funny because we aren't going to eat him.

UPDATE: I regret to inform you that Pescado is dead. I will never forget the two beautiful days we spent together, or the way his mouth opened and closed when I put fish food in his bowl. May he swirl in peace.

Amy's Honorable Return

The last 18 months went by so fast and yet so slow. I thought the day we picked her up from the airport would never come.

I will say it a million times - Missions are the best. They are totally worth the sacrifice. Amy came home with an amazing testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. She has grown so much, and helped so many people along the way. I am so glad she was able to have a mission experience just like me.

The best flowers I will ever get today.

Sometimes things don't go your way and life seems pretty crappy. When that happens, I hope you have friends like mine. Friends who will listen to you vent for hours on the phone. Friends who, even though they are in a different state, send someone over to bring you flowers. Friends who will stop by for no reason except to see how you are doing. Friends who will give you priesthood blessings and advice. Friends who make sure you aren't home alone on weekend nights. With friends like that you can get through anything. I am so grateful for my friends.
